Your Questions About: Marijuana Legal Substitutes

Steven asks…

why is marijuana legal!?

I have been doing some research and heard that some liberal devils in other states are making it okay for kids to have POT, for so called “medical uses”. Last i checked all pot does is kill brain cells, ruin relationships, cause birth defects, make them mindless drug addicts, cause theft, and ruin lives. There is a reason it is ILLEGAL ya know! Does anyone know why these morons are trying to ruin our society? They say marijuana is good for “anxiety” but I don’t see why they would use it! I’ve been on Xanax for 25 years, why would someone rather use marijuana, a dangerous, addictive substitute for such a harmless, legal drug as Xanax?

Potter answers:

Nothing you have said is based in reality.

Don’t get me wrong, Marijuana is addictive to approximately 9% of the total population of humanity that has the genetics for addiction, which is approximately 30% of our species…

But marijuana only causes brain damage in Children (under about the age of 18/19) whose brains are still developing and with long term, super heavy use of it as adults…

Moderate and responsible use of marijuana is basically harmless.

“Children” are only being given Marijuana/Canabanoids under specific and doctor monitored situations. One example is giving it to Autistic Children to keep them calm so they don’t do harm to themselves.

Marijuana is illegal because the Cotton Barons saw Hemp as a threat to their fortunes. It was made illegal by lying to the public about its “Dangers” and using overt Racial Bigotry to get the voting public to eliminate it. (Since they claimed that it caused black men to rape white women, drive white people permanently insane, and is used by Latinos… Which was all it took to get the South West to vote for Prohibition.)

Long term marijuana use can result in Anxiety and Depression in heavy users. For responsible users, it can treat anxiety, in people whose biology is compatible with this treatment. It doesn’t work for everyone, like any drug.

Xanax/Alprazolam/Benzo’s are horrifically addictive and if taken for too long, can send a user into seizures if their use is not monitored by a physician. I know this because I have a prescription for Alprazolam. I take 1/2 of a 0.50mg when needed to get my work done.

“Weed has NO chemically addictive properties. Purely a mental addiction, more of a habit.”

Addiction is defined not by the tolerance of a substance or even amount used, it is defined by the inability to stop doing a specific act despite mounting negative consequences.

There is NO SUCH THING as a “Mental Addiction”. ALL addiction is based in your brain biology… Meaning, all “Psychological” problems ARE FU*KING BIOLOGICAL!

If you can stop, do so…

If you can’t stop, be it smoking weed or seeking prostitutes or smoking meth or gamboling, that is BOTH A PSYCHOLOGICAL ADDICTION AND BIOLOGICAL ADDICTION because they are one and the same.

Only VERY ignorant people continue to say that a) Weed isn’t addictive or b) It’s a “Mental Addiction”.

When laypeople say “Physical Addiction”, you mean “Tolerance and/or Physical Dependancy”.

ANYONE can become physically dependent or gain a tolerance to a drug, but the difference between Tolerance/Dependance and Addiction is that once you Detox, the non-addict will never think about it again while the addict won’t stop dwelling on doing it again…
